| Obverse description | Draped bust of the personified Roman Senate (Senatus), youthful, facing right, with curly hair rendered in the Hellenistic tradition. The effigy is shown with drapery over the left shoulder, presented in a naturalistic style characteristic of provincial Asiatic coinage of the Antonine period. The circular legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ ('Sacred Senate') runs around the periphery of the flan. |
