The surrounding field carries the Greek dedicatory legend ΝΕΡΩΝΙ ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙ ΚΤΙϹΤΗ, identifying Nero as Apollo and founder (ktistes) of the city. The die is crudely engraved in the provincial style typical of Epirote civic issues of the Julio-Claudian period. |
