| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus Thrax facing right, portrayed in three-quarter rear view, presenting the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and segmented armour of the cuirass in characteristic provincial style. The imperial effigy is rendered with the broad, powerful features associated with this emperor in provincial coinage.
