| Descripción del anverso | Bare laureate head of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the conventional provincial portrait style, with finely detailed wreath of laurel leaves encircling the head. The encircling Greek legend reads ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝοϹ distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is modelled in moderately high relief typical of Ephesian civic coinage of the mid-second century AD. The flan is slightly irregular with a notable flaw at the upper edge. |
