In her right hand she holds a ship's rudder resting on the ground, symbolising guidance and destiny, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The figure is depicted in a composed, classical stance characteristic of Hellenistic civic types. A Greek civic legend surrounds the type in the border of the flan, naming the presiding strategos and the civic authority of Pitane. |
