| 背面描述 | Hercules standing right, nude, resting one arm on his hip and the other upon a club draped with the Nemean lion's skin. The figure is rendered in the classical heroic tradition common to colonial provincial coinage of the Severan period. The colonial legend is distributed in the field around the deity. |

Alexandria Troas held the status of a Roman colony — Colonia Augusta Troadensis — granted under Augustus, which gave it the right to produce autonomous bronze coinage using Latin legends, an unusual privilege for a Greek-speaking city in Asia Minor. Severan-era issues from this mint are notably inconsistent in fabric; the flans were often poorly prepared, and off-center strikes are the rule rather than the exception. A well-centered example commands immediate attention for that reason alone.
