The composition is rendered in a provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage of the mid-third century. The encircling Greek legend references both civic communities and their union. The overall type is a rare alliance (homonoia) issue struck to celebrate the concordia between Nicaea and Byzantium. |
