Reverse description Athena standing facing with head turned to the left, her right arm extended forward presenting a figure of Nike, while her left hand supports a long spear and a round shield resting at her side. The goddess is rendered in the classical Athena Promachos tradition adapted to the provincial coinage idiom of Nicopolis in Epirus. The encircling legend ΙΕΡΑϹ ΝΕΙΚΟΠΟΛΕΩϹ, meaning 'of sacred Nicopolis,' frames the divine figure within the field. The composition reflects the civic pride of Nicopolis and its long-standing veneration of Athena as a patronal deity. Considerable wear and bronze patination obscure fine surface detail, yet the principal iconographic elements remain identifiable.
