| 正面描述 | Laureate head of Demos personified facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic provincial tradition with flowing hair beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait is depicted in bold relief typical of Phrygian civic bronze coinage of the Neronian period. The encircling Greek legend identifying the civic personification runs along the periphery of the flan. |

Iulius Andronikos, whose name and title ΕΥΕΡΓΕΤΗΣ ("benefactor") appear on this civic bronze, was almost certainly a local magistrate or prominent citizen who financed the issue — a common arrangement in the Greek East whereby wealthy individuals funded municipal coinage in exchange for the honorific inscription. The coin dates to the early years of Nero's reign over Laodicea ad Lycum, a prosperous city in the Lycus valley that would be devastated by earthquake in 60/61 AD, just before this piece was struck.
