The type reflects the standard iconographic programme of Ionian civic bronzes issued under Roman imperial authority during the sole reign of Gallienus. The multi-line reverse legend names the city's inhabitants and the presiding strategos Ser— Apronianos, who served as the issuing magistrate. |
