| Reverse description | Tyche, the personification of Fortune, depicted standing to the left in full figure, draped in long garments. In her right hand she holds a small statuette of Ares, the god of war, while her left hand supports a large cornucopia, symbolising civic prosperity. The type reflects the standard iconographic programme of Ionian civic bronzes issued under Roman imperial authority during the sole reign of Gallienus. The multi-line reverse legend names the city's inhabitants and the presiding strategos Ser— Apronianos, who served as the issuing magistrate. |
