The Greek civic legend ϹΑΡΔΙΑΝΩΝ Β ΝΕΩΚΟΡΩΝ is distributed around the figure in the field and exergue, proclaiming the twice-neocorate status of the city of Sardis. The reverse type reflects the strong local veneration of Mên in the Lydian region during the Severan era. |
