| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large winged caduceus, entwined by two serpents with their heads meeting at the top beneath the wings, stands upright and centrally placed upon a substantial rectangular base or altar, dominating the reverse field. The caduceus, symbol of Hermes and of commercial prosperity, is rendered in bold relief consistent with Cyzicene provincial coinage of the Severan and Gordian periods. The encircling Greek legend, distributed around the periphery, references the city's neocorate status. The composition is simple yet boldly executed, with the type serving as an emblem of the city's mercantile and religious prominence. |
