The figure is rendered in a static, frontal provincial style typical of Achaean colonial bronzes under the Flavians. The colonial legend is distributed around the periphery of the coin. The altar is depicted at lower left, emphasising the sacrificial and protective role of the Genius as guardian deity of the Augustan colony of Patras. |
