| 裏面の説明 | The Genius of the colony stands facing left in the field, nude or lightly draped, holding a patera in the right hand extended over a flaming altar at lower left, and a cornucopia in the left hand. The figure is rendered in a static, frontal provincial style typical of Achaean colonial bronzes under the Flavians. The colonial legend is distributed around the periphery of the coin. The altar is depicted at lower left, emphasising the sacrificial and protective role of the Genius as guardian deity of the Augustan colony of Patras. |
