| Descripción del reverso | Tyche, the personification of the city's fortune, stands facing left in full figure, rendered in the flowing drapery characteristic of provincial Greek coinage of the Severan period. In her right hand she holds a small cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus — the iconic xoanon depicted frontally, wearing a kalathos (cylindrical crown) and flanked by lateral supports — while her left hand bears a cornucopia symbolising abundance. The encircling reverse legend proclaims Ephesus's prestigious status as a thrice-neocorate city, an honorific title reflecting its custodianship of three imperial cult temples. |
