| Description de l’avers | Veiled and draped bust of the Boule personification facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Phrygian civic coinage under Antoninus Pius. The veil falls softly over the head and shoulders, conveying the dignity and sacred character of the city council. The circular Greek legend ΒΟΥΛΗ ΑΠΑΜΕΩΝ surrounds the effigy, identifying the type as a representation of the Boule of Apamea. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy patination consistent with circulation wear. |

| Description du revers | The cult statue of Artemis of Ephesus (Ephesia) depicted standing, facing, in the rigid frontal hieratic pose characteristic of her xoanon type. The goddess wears a tall kalathos (polos) atop her head and is adorned with the characteristic multiple rows of pendants or ova across the chest. Lateral supports flank the figure on either side, as is typical of representations of this cult image on provincial bronzes. The Greek legend ΕΠΙΜ Μ ΑΙΛ ΑΠΟΛΛΙΝΑΡΙΟΥ, naming the local magistrate (epimeletes) Marcus Aelius Apollinarios responsible for the issue, is distributed around the field. |
