The surrounding Greek legend names the presiding strategos Pankrates, reflecting the civic magistrate coinage practice common to cities of the Smyrna conventus. The surfaces show a heavy patina of green and reddish-brown consistent with prolonged burial, with the legend partially legible around the periphery. |
