| Obverse description | Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic back-bust style employed in Thessalian provincial coinage of the mid-third century AD. The radiate crown projects prominently above the head, while the muscled cuirass is visible across the shoulders. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor with his full titulature. The flan is irregularly shaped and the surfaces display heavy patination consistent with prolonged circulation and burial. |
