A stag stands to either side of the goddess, facing inward, referencing her role as Mistress of Animals (Potnia Theron). The ethnic legend ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ is disposed around the field, identifying the issuing city of Tiberiopolis. The type closely follows the well-known Ephesian Artemis reverse type widely adopted across the cities of the Lydian conventus. |
