| Reverse description | Frontal cult statue of Artemis Ephesia standing erect at centre, depicted in the canonical xoanon form with supports or lateral bands flanking the body, adorned with multiple rows of ovoid pendants on the chest and wearing a polos crown. A stag stands to either side of the goddess, facing inward, referencing her role as Mistress of Animals (Potnia Theron). The ethnic legend ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ is disposed around the field, identifying the issuing city of Tiberiopolis. The type closely follows the well-known Ephesian Artemis reverse type widely adopted across the cities of the Lydian conventus. |
