| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large cornucopia occupies the central field, its characteristic curved form rendered in low relief. Seated atop the mouth of the cornucopia is a small nude infant figure, identified tentatively as the infant Dionysus or possibly Plutos, turned to the left or right. The ethnic legend ΝΥϹΑΕΩΝ ('of the Nysaeans') is inscribed in the field, referencing the civic identity of the issuing city. The type alludes to Nysa's mythological association with the nurturing of Dionysus. |
