A small lighted altar is placed at his feet, referencing ritual sacrifice and cult worship. The composition is typical of provincial Dionysiac reverse types prevalent in the Carian conventus during the Severan and Gordian periods. The ethnic legend ΝΕΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ encircles the reverse field.
