| Descrizione del dritto | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander as Caesar facing right, seen from the rear, with the portrait rendered in the provincial style typical of Mysian civic coinage. The obverse legend encircles the bust, identifying the young Caesar by name. The legend includes a retrograde sigma, indicative of the local engraver's workshop practice. The flan is irregular and the strike slightly off-center, consistent with hand-hammered provincial bronzes of the early third century AD. |
