| Description du revers | Two standing deities face one another in the field: to the left, Isis stands facing right, clad in the characteristic knotted garment, holding a sistrum in her raised right hand and a situla (bucket) in her left; to the right, Sarapis stands facing left, wearing a modius (kalathos) on his head and holding a long sceptre in his left hand. The pairing of Isis and Sarapis reflects the prominence of Alexandrian religious cults in Carian civic coinage of the Antonine period. The ethnic legend ΑΛΙΝΔΕΩΝ, with alphas bearing curved crossbars, is disposed around the reverse field. |
