| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of the deified Vespasian facing left, rendered in the provincial Greek tradition with broad, somewhat crude features characteristic of Pontic civic coinage. The legend ΘΕΟΣ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ (Divine Augustus) is disposed around the effigy in Greek characters, conferring posthumous divine status upon the emperor. A branch symbol appears below the portrait in the lower field, serving as a mint or engraver mark. The flan is irregular and the strike moderately worn, typical of bronze civic issues from Amisus of this period. |
