Reverse description A hawk standing to the right, crowned with the skhent (double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt), a distinctly Egyptian religious symbol identifying the bird as the sacred falcon of Horus. The regnal year date L ΙΓ (year 13 of Antoninus Pius) appears in the field, divided to either side of the figure. The design reflects the strong syncretism of Greco-Roman and indigenous Egyptian iconographic traditions characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The flan is irregular with a green patina consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the period.
