正面描述 Youthful laureate head of the Demos facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic provincial style with finely detailed wreath and wavy hair. The legend ΙΕΡΟϹ ΔΗΜΟϹ (Sacred People) is disposed around the effigy in Greek characters, partially visible in the field. The portrait conveys a civic, idealized quality characteristic of the personification of the Demos on provincial bronzes of Asia Minor.

附加信息

Germe was a minor Mysian city whose civic coinage under Septimius Severus falls within the Pergamene conventus, the judicial district that organized much of Rome's administrative reach across western Anatolia. These small bronzes circulated locally and were not products of the imperial mint — they were authorized civic issues, struck on the city's own initiative and for its own commercial needs. The ethnic legend ΓΕΡΜΗΝΩΝ simply identifies the issuing community.

The reference to V.2#42842 points to the Wadd collection corpus. Germe's output under Severus is sparse enough that individual die links across surviving specimens have been noted by specialists.
