The Greek legend ΙΕΡΑϹ ΝΕΙΚΟΠΟΛΕωϹ, meaning 'of sacred Nicopolis', is distributed in the field and around the design, proclaiming the sacred status of the city founded by Augustus to commemorate his victory at Actium. |
