The ethnic legend ΤΡΑΛΛΙΑΝΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing civic authority. The reverse design reflects the strong civic pride of Tralles in its divine patroness and is characteristic of the rich iconographic repertoire of Conventus Ephesi bronze coinage under the Severan dynasty. |
