The goddess wears a kalathos (cylindrical headdress) and the distinctive multi-tiered garment adorned with rows of pendants or ova on the chest. Supporting lateral braces or stanchions flank her lowered arms. A crescent appears to the left of the figure and a star to the right, symbols associated with the lunar and astral aspects of the deity. The ethnic legend ΑΙΖΑΝΕΙΤΩΝ (of the Aezanitans) is inscribed around the reverse field. |
