Year 16 of Trajan's reign in Egypt — 112/113 AD — falls squarely in the period when the emperor was marshaling resources and attention toward his Parthian campaign, which launched the following year. Alexandrian bronze of this regnal year circulated in a province that functioned as the personal estate of the emperor, its mint answerable directly to imperial administration rather than to the Roman Senate. The ΙϚ date formula is the Egyptian regnal notation, counted from Trajan's accession in 98 AD.
