| Beschrijving keerzijde | A seated goddess, identified with a local Lydian deity or Demeter, is depicted in three-quarter view facing left, enthroned upon a high-backed seat. She holds two ears of grain in her extended right hand, symbolising agricultural abundance, and grasps a double axe (labrys) in her left hand, a distinctly Anatolian cultic attribute. The figure wears a polos or turreted crown and long robes, rendered with fine drapery folds. The encircling Greek legend ΕΠΙ ΠΕΔΑΝΙΟΥ ΜΟϹΤΗΝΩΝ identifies the presiding magistrate Pedanius and the civic authority of Mostene. The reverse design reflects the syncretic religious tradition of Lydia, blending Greek and indigenous Anatolian iconographic elements. |
