The figure wears a polos or turreted crown and long robes, rendered with fine drapery folds. The encircling Greek legend ΕΠΙ ΠΕΔΑΝΙΟΥ ΜΟϹΤΗΝΩΝ identifies the presiding magistrate Pedanius and the civic authority of Mostene. The reverse design reflects the syncretic religious tradition of Lydia, blending Greek and indigenous Anatolian iconographic elements. |
