| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Judaean civic coinage of the Flavian period. The portrait displays the characteristic features of the emperor with laurel wreath, the neck truncation visible at the lower field. The Greek legend ΔΟΜΕΤ ΚΑΙϹ ΓΕΡΜ (Dometianus Caesar Germanicus) encircles the effigy, partially legible around the periphery of the flan. The die-work reflects the local engraving tradition of Tiberias under the authority of Agrippa II. |
