The legend is enclosed within a double linear circle border, itself surrounded by a prominent outer dotted (pellet) border that circumscribes the entire design. The rudimentary, somewhat irregular striking is characteristic of hammered coinage produced at Thanjavur during the Maratha period. |

The text is enclosed within a double linear circle, beyond which runs a continuous outer border of pellets, mirroring the treatment of the obverse. The die workmanship is typical of the crude hammered style employed for small copper kasu coinage of the Thanjavur-Maratha state. |
