Æ - Sariakes

Sariakes is one of the more obscure rulers in the Scythian dynastic record, known almost entirely through his coinage rather than any surviving literary source. His reign falls within the turbulent post-Lysimachean period when smaller kingdoms across the Pontic steppe and surrounding regions were jostling for position against the encroaching power of both Pontus and the late Seleucid sphere. Bronze issues of this type were local, low-denomination coinage serving communities where silver rarely circulated in everyday exchange.

The reference range Coinage#924-939 suggests multiple die pairings across the type — not unusual for a minor dynast striking over roughly a decade.
