| Descrizione del dritto | Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Leo I facing right, rendered in the late antique style characteristic of fifth-century Eastern Roman coinage. The effigy displays a string of pearls forming the diadem across the brow, with drapery and cuirass visible at the shoulder. The surrounding Latin legend, partially legible on this small module flan, reads D N LEON S P F AVG. The portrait is executed in low relief, consistent with the reduced nummus denomination struck at Nicomedia during Leo's reign. |
