The composition closely imitates the official Magnentius reverse type struck at Ambianum (Amiens). The execution is barbarous, with schematic rendering of the figures and garbled legend. Exergue contains a degenerate mint mark derived from the Ambianum officina signature. The overall style is consistent with Germanic imitative production of the late 4th to early 5th century.
