Reverse description A winged thunderbolt depicted centrally in the field, its radiating zigzag bolts and outstretched wings rendered with bold, stylized engraving typical of Syracusan bronzes of this period. The device occupies the full center of the flan, flanked by the civic legend split across the upper and lower fields. The inscription ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ (of the Syracusans) is divided, with ΣΥΡΑΚ appearing in the upper field and ΟΣΙΩΝ in the lower field, encircling the thunderbolt device.
