| 背面描述 | A large archaic Greek letter eta (H) occupying the central field, rendered in bold incuse or relief strokes with two vertical uprights joined by a horizontal bar, serving as a civic or magistrate's initial. The letter is set within a plain, unbordered circular field against a flat flan. The design is stark and monumental, typical of early Elean civic bronze coinage. |

Cranii was one of four principal cities of Cephallenia, and its bronze coinage of this period reflects the island's position as a minor but independent maritime power in the Ionian Sea. The city maintained enough civic autonomy to strike its own bronze well into the Macedonian period, despite Cephallenian communities frequently shifting allegiances between Corinthian, Athenian, and later Macedonian spheres of influence.
The BMC Greek references 48–55 span a notable range, suggesting multiple emission phases across the century rather than a single issue.
