Reverse description The reverse displays a multi-line mint and regnal legend in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy, arranged in three horizontal registers separated by ruled lines. The inscription records that coins of the sultanate struck in the name of Ali have been made current by the order of the Eternal One, followed by the mint name Isfahan (اصفهان) prominently placed in the lower register. Floral ornaments punctuate the field between lines, and the whole composition is contained within a beaded border consistent with Afsharid hammered coinage of the mid-eighteenth century.
