| 正面铭文 | JOSEPHUS•I•D•G•P•REX•E•B•D• 17 71 •80• •**• (Translation: José, by the Grace of God, King of Portugal and Lord of Brazil.) |
| 背面描述 | The reverse features a large armillary sphere at center, depicted as a globus cruciger-style globe intersected by meridian and equatorial bands, a device closely associated with the Portuguese overseas empire and Brazil. Two foliate or scroll-like branches flank the sphere symmetrically at the lower sides, framing the central device. The abbreviated circular Latin legend SUBQ. SIGN. NATA STAB. (Sub Quo Signo Nata Stabilis — Under this sign it was born and will remain stable) runs around the periphery, separated by stops, within a dentilated border. The die work is characteristic of mid-eighteenth-century Lisbon Mint production, with crisp relief on the sphere's latitudinal and longitudinal lines. |
