| 背面描述 | The quartered royal arms of Spain displayed on a large shield at centre, incorporating the castles of Castile, lions of León, chains of Navarre, and the pale stripes of Aragon, surmounted by a large royal crown. The shield is encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the denomination '80 RS.' appearing to the left and right of the shield within the collar. The mint mark 'B' and assayer initials 'P.S.' appear at the bottom of the field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition along the periphery. |

The "cabeza pequeña" portrait used on this Barcelona issue was an early attempt to render the young queen — still a minor under the regency of General Espartero — in coinage form. The regency period created genuine administrative friction between Madrid and the peripheral mints, and Barcelona's output during these years reflects inconsistent die production rather than a coordinated national standard. Espartero's own political position collapsed in 1843 when Isabel II was declared of age at thirteen, cutting this portrait type's production window short.
