正面描述 The obverse is printed in blue, green, and black on cream paper, with a wide ornamental border composed of stylised floral and geometric motifs in the Secessionist manner. A central rectangular vignette presents a letterpress townscape of Mitterndorf, with a prominent church spire rising above village rooftops against a backdrop of alpine hills. The denomination '80 HELLER' appears in large blue numerals in the upper corners, with the title 'GUTSCHEIN ÜBER' in a teal guilloche panel at the top; the issuer name 'MITTERNDORF IM STEIR. SALZKAMMERGUT' is set in bold capitals below the vignette, and a green panel at the foot carries the validity inscription.

背面描述 The reverse is unprinted, presenting plain cream-coloured paper. Show-through of the obverse design is visible due to the lightweight paper stock used for this Notgeld issue.

备注

One of hundreds of Austrian Notgeld issues produced in the early 1920s, this 80 Heller note from Mitterndorf belongs to a wave of locally-printed emergency money that filled the void left by the chronic small-denomination coin shortage following the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system. Spa towns and resorts issued their own Notgeld with particular enthusiasm — the notes doubled as tourist souvenirs, and many were printed in limited series specifically to be collected rather than spent.

The JPR0621IIa reference places this within the Jaksch-catalogued Austrian local issues, a classification system that remains the specialist standard for this material.
