正面描述 The obverse is printed in blue and black with a fine guilloche underprint. At upper centre, the bank title 'El Banco de Lima' is rendered in large ornate lettering, with the denomination 'OCHO SOLES' in a central panel below. A large circular red wax-style seal vignette occupies the centre field. To the lower left, an oval vignette presents a classical allegorical group of three female figures with a child, and to the lower right, a second oval vignette shows a reclining allegorical figure. 备注

The Banco de Lima was one of several private commercial banks that emerged in Peru during the guano boom years, when coastal elites flush with export revenues pushed for a liberalized banking system. The 1877 Peruvian banking crisis — triggered by the collapse of guano revenues and compounded by the War of the Pacific shortly after — wiped out most of these institutions, making pre-crisis private bank notes genuinely uncommon survivors.

The Compañía Nacional de Billetes de Banco operated briefly in New York during the early 1870s, printing for several South American clients before ceasing operations. Its output is relatively rare in institutional collections.
