| Mô tả mặt sau | Plain field bearing the date in two lines at centre, reading 'AÑO' above '1813', rendered in bold raised characters. A circular legend reading 'PROVINCIA DE POPAYAN' surrounds the central date, with a small rosette stop separating the beginning and end of the inscription. The coin is encircled by a prominent reeded or corded border, consistent throughout both faces, lending a uniform and austere appearance characteristic of provisional coinage struck during the New Granadan independence movement. |

| Thông tin bổ sung |
Popayán's 1813 emission came during one of the most turbulent moments in New Granadan independence — the city had declared its own provisional junta in 1811, and royalist forces would retake it by 1816. Coins struck under provincial authority during this window are genuinely rare; the mint at Popayán had operated continuously under the Crown since the 1620s, and reassigning its output to a patriot government was both a political act and a logistical one.
Restrepo 121-1 catalogues this as a provisionary type, distinct from the colonial milled coinage the same facility had been producing for nearly two centuries.
