| 表面の説明 | The obverse of the host coin presents a right-facing uncrowned bust of Agustín de Iturbide (Agustín I, Emperor of Mexico), with naturalistic hair rendered in low relief against a flat field. The peripheral legend reads AUGUSTINUS DEI PROVIDENTIA, with the mint mark Mo and date 1823 positioned in the lower exergual area. Prominently applied over the emperor's cheek and neck is the Philippine Isabel II countermark, an incuse oval cartouche enclosing a crowned castle and the numeral II, authenticated as a Spanish colonial validating stamp applied in Manila between 1834 and 1837. The toothed border of the host coin remains visible around the full circumference. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse depicts a crowned eagle with fully spread wings, perched upon a prickly pear cactus (nopal) growing from a rocky outcropping, rendered in the imperial Mexican style of the First Empire. The eagle faces to its left and bears a small crown atop its head, symbolising Iturbide's imperial pretensions. The denomination 8R and assayer initials J·M appear in the lower field, flanked by the mint mark, while the surrounding peripheral legend reads MEX·I·IMPERATOR·CONSTITUT, identifying Iturbide as Mexico's first Constitutional Emperor. A toothed border frames the entire design. |
