Reverse description The crowned Royal Arms of Spain, quartered with the castles of Castile and the lions of León, with a central escutcheon bearing the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty, flanked on either side by the crowned Pillars of Hercules with their scrolling banners. The mint mark Mo (Mexico City), denomination 8R, and assayer initials FM appear in the legend. The circumferential inscription reads •HISPAN•ET IND•REX•, with the denominational and mint data completing the legend. The entire composition is framed by a toothed inner border matching the obverse.
