Obverse description A rampant Chinthe — the mythical Burmese guardian lion-dragon — occupies the central field, depicted in high relief facing left with a curling tail and decorative mane. Two five-pointed stars flank the creature at mid-field. The circular legend in Burmese script arcs around the upper periphery, identifying the issuing state, while the Burmese Era date appears in two lines below the Chinthe along the lower field.
